Plant Pride | Maker Market + Plant Faire

Plant Pride is a one-day event celebrating the anniversary of The Botany Shop. Part block party, part maker market, part music festival and plant faire, this event is a celebration of the many ways plants inspire us and bring us closer together. 2024 will be the third Plant Pride event, and we’re expecting it will be bigger and better than ever. If you’re new to Plant Pride, check out this gallery from last year’s event to get a flavor of what to expect.

We’re planning to expand the Maker Market this year to include a new Plant Faire, and we look forward to welcoming a broader depth and diversity of makers, creatives, growers, and plant-lovers from across the region. Please take care to review the Market and Vendor Curation guidelines below, as we intend for the market to remain a carefully curated experience.

Please complete the form below to request a vendor space. We’ll review all vendor applications on a rolling basis, and applications will be accepted until all spots are filled.

Selected vendors will be notified starting Monday, April 29, and will be required to pay a booth fee of $75 to confirm your space. You’ll receive an email with payment instructions if you’re selected.

Registration Deadlines

  • Booth fees due by Friday, May 31st.

MARKET & VENDOR CURATION

Plant Pride aims to elevate and celebrate the art, science, and creativity that come with growing plants and living a botanically-infused lifestyle. The Plant Pride Market specifically aims to celebrate local and regional makers and growers, and thus we prioritize vendors who create and grow their own products (vendors who only resell products made by others are less likely to be accepted).

  • Hand-made pottery and vessels suitable for growing plants indoors and out.

  • Specialty/hobby plant growers who specialize in unique groups of plants (indoors and outdoor/hardy plants welcome).

  • Mixed-media artwork featuring plants or the natural world (prints, ceramics, textiles, stained glass, etc.)

  • Jewelry or other wearable art featuring plant-based material or design motifs. (jewelry, apparel, scarves, etc.)

  • Interior design and decor that feature natural elements or showcase unique ways to display or care for plants (plant hangers, macrame, plant charms and ornaments, etc.)

  • Plant-based grooming and self-care products (soaps, lip balms, bath soaks, etc.)

  • Candles, incense, or other air freshening products featuring plant-based products and fragrances.

  • Plant-based colognes or perfumes with botanical fragrances.

  • Garden antiques, outdoor living, and small home furnishings relevant to or inspired by the natural world.

  • Pre-packaged consumable food products. (simple syrups, honey, candies, etc.)

  • Family-friendly items and products, and booths with hands-on/demonstration elements suitable for a range of ages are also highly desirable.

  • If you create something that you don’t see on this list and you think might be a good fit, drop us a line and introduce yourself!

Anticipated Audience & Impact

  • Expected attendance: 2-3k people from across the Michiana region.

  • Item price points <$50 will likely perform best.

Logistics

  • Booth spaces are 10’x10’. Vendors are responsible for bringing your own set-up including tables, tents, etc. No electric is available.

  • This is a RAIN OR SHINE market and the event will only be cancelled in the event of extreme severe weather. Botany will refund 50% of your booth fee in the event of a weather cancellation. Please pack accordingly when planning your booth setup.

  • Vendors are expected to make and handle your own sales. Please bring adequate cash to make change.

  • Booth setup begins at 9am, and you should plan to welcome customers by 11am.

  • The market and faire runs from 11a-5p. Please plan to stay the entire time. Botany will have volunteers available to watch your booth for a short time if you need a break.
